Oktavius Update~ 6.22.09
Time for a long overdue update. I appreciate everyone’s patience while I struggle to complete this project.
I had promised a May release for Oktavius, but unfortunately, May has come and gone and the book is not complete. Fortunately, I got a great job in May as a foreman for Axel Landscapes and we have been very busy installing some amazing residential landscapes. UNfortunately, this is a very demanding job physically and mentally, and we are working all over the Twin Cities metro area, so it has left me little spare time. What spare time I did have in May was spent volunteering on a weekly column for the Anoka County Historical Society which was published in the Anoka County Union Newspaper. I’ve posted links to these articles on the blog for those who are interested. I’m am also in the midst of a child custody battle and have had to make several trips out to Michigan for hearings. Enough excuses— onto the update.
The good news is: I have managed to complete all illustrations for the book: test printed, adjusted, tweaked, re-adjusted, and finalized. The text is edited, and miraculously I discovered a wonderful new twist to the end of this story that really ‘completes the cycle’, so to speak.
The bad news is: I have realized that I do not have the time, education, or experience to complete the layout per Lightning Source specifications, so I have finally decided to ‘hire-out’ this aspect of the project. I am most interested in working closely with someone local to get this done in the most efficient manner. I have posted an ad to Craigslist and will hopefully be conducting interviews asap.
For those of you wonderful people have reserved a pre-sale copy of Oktavius and sent in your payment promptly- Thank you and Bless you!
There are still plenty of copies left for the pre-sale for anyone who is interested.

Sweet buddy. I’m looking forward to it. My daughter will be learning to read in the next year or so. I need something good for her to start on. Thanks for doing this.
Peace
