Story

07_final450Journey of Oktavius is a mystical bedtime story for the child with a curious mind and a passion for seeking truth. I wrote the story with the pre-school child in mind, to help prepare them for the outside world. This is not a ‘learn to read” book, as you may have guessed, so I hope that parents who read this to their child will enjoy the story as well.

Based on Sacred Geometry, the most universal language of all, a classic tale arises from the increasing complexity of personal development and relationships, not uncommon to a child who is set to venture out of the home, and into the great unknown of academia. Presented for the child as simple shapes and colors, each chapter secretly introduces and explores various realms of personal development in relation to Sacred Geometry, which progress in definite patterns such as the Golden Spiral, as depicted on the book’s cover.

In all there are 8 chapters in accordance with the Law of Octaves, and initially each chapter was also divided into eight parts, designed to give the impression of a repeating cycle such as the music scale: do, re, mi, fa, sol, la, si, do. Each ‘do’ represents the end of one scale and the beginning of another, and this is the main theme of the story. In this way, simple shapes and colors are used to depict the development of personal relationships with the outside world.

In addition to these two primary cosmic laws, each animal in the story represents an entire cultural view, philosophy, or aspect of consciousness, and each chapter represents a different paradigm of self-awareness in relation to the external world.

This is a fairy tale that exceeds mere grandiose fantasy, and attempts to display an objective morality in an interactive world where only attentive efforts and one’s own hard work can obtain the highest pinnacle.  Weaved craftily into this colorful story is the brilliant psychological model of Carl Jung, the wisdom of ancient Greece, the love of Christ, the serenity of Zen, and much more.

Bits and pieces of worldly philosophy in cosmic proportions are sprinkled about in a simple tale of a young seeker’s journey to find an answer to the mystery of life.  This is a story for those who dare to dream big.
